His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday extended thanks to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces, for presenting Jordan with snow sweepers.
The United Arab Emirates on Saturday presented Jordan with 22 vehicles, valued at more than AED16.5 million (around JD3.2 million), to be used to clear roads from snow, after a recent blizzard paralysed public life.
In a telephone call, the King expressed his appreciation of the United Arab Emirates, under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the UAE, and its continued support of Jordan under all circumstances.
The machinery will help support municipalities and the Civil Defence Department in their efforts to address the fallout of weather conditions such as the recent snowstorm.
