His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, spent Wednesday night and part of Thursday at the King Hussein Ben Talal 40th Armoured Brigade, a unit affiliated with King Abdullah II 3rd Armoured Division.
The King, who was accompanied by HRH Prince Hussein Ben Abdullah, took part in the brigade's military exercises and commented on their performance.
King Abdullah listened to briefings by the commanders of the division and the brigade and the unit's chiefs of staff on the drill, which was part of the brigade's military training programme.
The King and Prince Hussein participated in the drill, which was conducted Thursday morning and included field exercises and shooting training on various weapons, supported by Royal Jordanian Air Force gunships.
Participants exhibited high levels of accuracy and physical fitness during the various phases of the drill.
The soldiers organised a folklore show on Wednesday night, during which they sang patriotic songs and performed the dabkeh.
Senior army officers attended the activities.
