His Majesty King Abdullah has warned that the peace process is at a critical stage that threatens to amplify tension and violence in the Middle East.
Speaking at the Sun Valley Economic Forum in Idaho Friday evening, King Abdullah highlighted the need for the international community to help eliminate obstacles hindering peace talks and help get the Palestinians and Israelis back to the negotiating table in order to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, which he said is still region's core conflict.
During the session, attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania, the King reiterated Jordan’s determination to work towards achieving peace in the Middle East and urged the US to continue playing an active and influential role to help the two parties to the conflict address final status issues in a manner that would culminate in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders.
King Abdullah said Jordan is moving towards comprehensive economic, political and social reforms, and is working to improving the investment climate so that investors will reap maximum benefit from the Kingdom’s distinguished location and good relations with world countries.
The King also highlighted the latest developments and transformations taking place in the Arab region and tackled a number of regional and international issues and his vision towards them.
