King Starts Visit To China

His Majesty King Abdullah started a working visit to the Republic of China during which he will meet with Chinese president Hu Jintao to discuss means of enhancing bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Middle East.



His Majesty will also meet with Chinese officials to discuss bilateral economic relations and Chinese aid to Jordan in addition to increasing the Chinese investment opportunities in the Kingdom. The King's talks will also touch on China's participation in supporting the current efforts to relaunch the peace negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israeli and the future of the situation in Iraq.



In an interview with Chinese news agency (Xinhua) ahead of the visit, the King stressed Jordan's keenness on enhancing its political and economic ties with China for its international credibility and its successful experience in achieving economic growth.




The King high lightened the Chinese-Jordanian relations in the various fields vowing to carry on with what his father, the late King Hussein had built and expressed keenness to further promote them.



The King expressed Jordan's keenness on attracting Chinese investments especially in the areas of information, technology, communications, tourism, transport and agriculture.



Impressed with China's comprehensive development , the King said that Jordan was ready to emulate the example.



The King praised China's support for the Middle East peace process which is aimed at ending the regional violence and establish a Palestinian state.



The King's visit to China is the third since he succeeded the throne in 1999.
