His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday started a visit to Russia as part of a several-day tour which also includes Turkmenistan and France.
The King will meet Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Sunday in Russia's Black Sea resort of Sochi to discuss means to enhance bilateral ties in various fields. Talks between the two leaders will also focus on the latest regional developments and efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East.
In Ashgabat, the King will discuss with Turkmenistan President Qurban Qali Bardi Mohammedov issues of mutual concern and ways to boost cooperation between the two countries.
During his visit to Paris, King Abdullah will meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy to discuss bilateral issues, the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership and latest regional developments. He also will address French politicians, academics and businesspeople, participating in the annual conference of MEDEF, a forum on regional and international political and economic challenges.
His Royal Highness Prince Hashem was sworn in as Regent.
