King, Sheikh Khalifa talk Mideast issues

His Majesty King Abdullah held talks on Monday with UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Ben Zayed Al Nahayan on Middle East developments and means to enhance bilateral ties.

The two leaders said they supported efforts to revive the Mideast peace process and preserve Palestinian unity.

During a brief visit to the UAE, the King briefed Sheikh Khalifa on Jordan's efforts to achieve regional stability, calling for a unified Arab position to face current challenges.

The King and the president, meanwhile, said they backed Iraq's security and stability, adding that all Iraqis should be involved in their country's political process.

Talks also covered bilateral ties and ways to bolster them.
