His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday sent a cable to Japan's Emperor Akihito expressing his condolences and deepest sympathy over the death of hundreds of Japanese citizens in the devastating earthquake and ensuing tsunami that hit Japan on Friday.

In the cable, King Abdullah affirmed Jordan's support for Japan and its readiness to assist the country in coping with the ordeal, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
