His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday said advancing the health sector and tackling deficiencies that hinder providing good services for citizens should top the priorities of authorities in the field.
King Abdullah told representatives from the public, military and private health sectors at a meeting that the vision for the health sector is based on the necessity to provide high quality health services in all governorates and ensure that all Jordanians are covered by health insurance.
The King directed members of the Health Council to work with health authorities on a clear plan to reform the health sector.
His Majesty also ordered the government to immediately begin the implementation of health projects in the country, particularly the establishment of the Zarqa, Karak and Baqaa hospitals.
During the meeting, King Abdullah discussed with officials challenges and problems in the health sector, including health insurance, establishing hospitals, the availability of medical supplies and managing human resources.
