His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday reviewed bilateral ties and regional developments with Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz during a visit to Riyadh.

Talks between the two sides focused on means to push forward the Middle East peace process, in addition to bilateral relations.

Reviewing the growing challenges facing the region, the two leaders stressed that continued coordination and consultations, as well as activating joint cooperation, are the optimal means to confront dangers facing the Arab nation and safeguard its interests.

His Majesty briefed the Saudi king on Jordan's contacts to rally the international community's support for peace efforts.

In this regard, they underlined the need for the Palestinians and Israelis to make use of Arab and international efforts aiming to pave the way for finding a just and a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian question and final status issues.

They also said procrastination in working to achieve serious and real progress in the peace process will drag the region into more violence and instability.

Accordingly, they called on Israel to immediately cease its violations of the Palestinian people's rights, stop settlement activities and end the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.

They also warned that Israel's unilateral policies thwart current efforts to salvage the peace process and advance it.

Talks between the two leaders also addressed the situation in Lebanon and efforts to achieve a breakthrough in the country's political crisis.

They called on all Lebanese political powers and factions to overcome the state of division and work to elect a president by consensus, in accordance with an Arab League proposal.

Addressing the situation in Iraq, they reiterated their concern for Iraq's security and stability and the unity of its people.

Wednesday's Jordanian-Saudi summit also covered mechanisms to enhance bilateral relations in various fields.

His Majesty and his Saudi counterpart stressed their commitment to activate cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia in economic and commercial fields, as well as in the area of investments.

King Abdullah expressed Jordan's appreciation of Saudi Arabia's assistance to the country, which contributes to the success of various plans and programmes.

Prime Minister Nader Dahabi, Royal Court Chief Bassem Awadallah, the King's Adviser on Tribal Affairs Sharif Fawaz Zaben Abdullah, Foreign Minister Salah Bashir, Director of the General Intelligence Department Lt. General Mohammad Dahabi and the Kingdom's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Qaftan Majali attended the talks, as well as several senior Saudi officials.
