King, Saudi Monarch discuss regional developments

His Majesty King Abdullah and Saudi King Abdullah Ben Abdul Aziz on Thursday discussed ways to address current challenges in the region in a manner that would best serve joint Arab interests.

During a meeting held in Rawdat Kheraim in Saudi Arabia, the two leaders stressed the need to settle inter-Arab differences.

They also underlined the importance of international and Arab efforts to launch serious and effective negotiations to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution and in pursuance of the Arab Peace Initiative.

King Abdullah commended Saudi king's efforts to unify Arab ranks and end Arab disputes.

Both sides expressed their keenness to advance cooperation in all spheres.

King Abdullah commended Saudi Arabia's principled position on Arab causes, its substantial support to Jordan and its relentless efforts to foster bilateral cooperation economic ties.

The Saudi monarch hosted a lunch banquet for King Abdullah and his accompanying delegation, comprising Prince Feisal Bin Al Hussein, Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Royal Court Chief Nasser Lawzi and other senior officials.

The King earlier arrived at King Khaled International Airport and was received by Prince Miqren Ben Abdelaziz, Prince Abdelaziz Ben Abdullah Ben Abdelaziz and Jordan's Ambassador to Riyadh Qaftan Majali.
