His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday stressed the need to intensify international efforts to bring about an end to the Israeli military escalation in Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.

In a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, the King stressed the role the U.S. could play to end the ongoing crisis.

His Majesty said that targeting civilians and facilities in Lebanon and Palestinian territories will increase the suffering of both peoples.
