His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday reviewed regional developments and efforts to bring about security and stability in the Middle East with a delegation from the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS).
During the meeting with the delegates, led by RCDS Commandant Admiral Sir Ian Garnett, the King stressed that the Palestinian issue is the core issue of the conflict in the Middle East.
King Abdullah also emphasized the importance of continued international community support for the Palestinians and the Israelis to resume negotiations in accordance with the Arab peace initiative and international resolutions to ensure the creation of a viable Palestinian state that lives side by side with Israel.
Talks also covered the situation in Iraq. King Abdullah warned of the increase in violence and the negative impact of the current situation on efforts exerted to preserve the unity of Iraq.
