King returns from US trip

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday returned home from a several-day visit to the US, during which he met with US President Barack Obama and a number of US officials.

During the visit, King Abdullah also participated in the two-day Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, which focused on means to secure nuclear material and keep it out of the hands of terrorists.

The King's discussions with Obama covered bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, science and culture, as well as efforts to achieve a Palestinian-Israeli peace settlement.

The King also held talks with Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and several members of Congress on bilateral ties and means to enhance cooperation, as well as the latest developments in the Middle East.

Following his meetings in Washington DC, King Abdullah travelled to Chicago to participate in a debate at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. While in Chicago, he also met with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune.

The King also met with business leaders to discuss prospects for further economic cooperation and the available investment opportunities in Jordan.
