His Majesty King Abdullah returned on Monday after a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia, where he met with King Abdullah Ben Abdul Aziz and discussed political developments in the region, especially the situation in Lebanon.
During the meeting, the two leaders voiced their condemnation of the Israeli attack on Qana in the south of Lebanon, saying it is a stark violation of moral and human values and all international accords.
Talks between the two leaders also covered the situation in the Palestinian territories and Iraq, as well as means to enhance bilateral ties.
Also today, King Abdullah met with Lebanese Deputy Saad Hariri in Jeddah and discussed the repercussions of the situation in Lebanon.
During the meeting, the King reiterated his condemnation of the massacres the Israeli forces carried out in Qana.
King Abdullah stressed that Jordan will continue to exert efforts at the political and diplomatic levels with the international community to bring about a ceasefire.
The Lebanese MP said he appreciated King Abdullah's efforts to end the crisis, voicing appreciation also for the humanitarian and medical assistance Jordan is dispatching to Lebanon.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah on Monday discussed the situation in Lebanon with Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi.
The King reviewed with the premier, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, efforts exerted to bring about a ceasefire and channel assistance to the Lebanese people.
