King Returns Home after Brief Visit to Kuwait

His Majesty King Abdullah returned home on Tuesday after a brief visit to Kuwait, where he held talks with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah covering bilateral cooperation in various fields and the latest developments in Palestine and Iraq.



During the talks, attended by Prime Minister Faisal Al Fayez, the King's Advisor for Security affairs/ Director of the Intelligence Department and Rapporteur of the State Council Maj. Gen. Saed Kheir, Minister of the Royal Hashemite Court Sameer Al Rifai, Foreign Minister Marwan Al Muasher, and Jordanian Ambassador to Kuwait Mohammad Qura'an, the two leaders affirmed their keenness to enhance relations between the two countries particularly in political and economic areas.



In culmination of the distinguished relations between the two countries, the joint Jordanian-Kuwaiti higher committee will hold its first meeting in Kuwait on Dec.9 headed by the two foreign Ministers of the two countries. The committee will discuss all issues pertaining to bilateral relations particularly economic cooperation and investment opportunities which could help develop private sector cooperation in the two countries. A number of agreements and joint projects will be signed during the meeting.



The talks, attended also by top Kuwaiti officials touched upon international efforts aimed to resume Palestinian Israeli peace talks through implementing the roadmap peace plan and to put an end to the suffering of Palestinian people.



Regarding the Iraqi dossier, the King and Emir of Kuwaiti reiterated their support to the Iraqi people's right to help them determine their future and choose their national regime. They also urged the international community back Iraq's rebuilding process.
