His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday renewed support for Palestinians in a phone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

In the call, King Abdullah voiced Jordan’s full support for Palestinians as they pursue their independent state within the 1967 lines, reiterating that the solution to the Mideast conflict should be based on the two-state solution.

The call came as part of Jordan-Palestine continued coordination over the peace process and regional developments.

The two leaders stressed their support for the efforts exerted by US Secretary of State John Kerry to bring the Israeli and Palestinian sides closer as they negotiate solution to the final status issues.

Abbas congratulated His Majesty for Jordan’s winning of a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council.
