His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday reiterated Jordan's support for the ongoing dialogue between various Lebanese political forces.

At a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora on the sidelines of the Khartoum Arab summit, the King hoped that the dialogue would yield positive results to serve Lebanon's national unity.

Also on Monday, the King held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and reviewed Jordan's efforts with the international community to ensure a continued flow of assistance to the Palestinian people.

The two leaders discussed the Israeli elections and their potential impact on the peace process.

The King held similar meetings with the presidents of Sudan, Mauritania, Libya, Algeria as well as the Qatari emir.

King Abdullah also discussed with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan bilateral relations and the situation in Iraq.

“There was a great appreciation of the King's attendance because of his regional and international roles,” Foreign Minister Abdul Ilah Khatib, who will head the Jordanian delegation to the summit's closing session today, said.

“Jordan's initiative to host Iraq's religious reconciliation conference was also applauded by delegates.”
