His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday reiterated the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities, place pressure on Israel to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1860 and stop its aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The King said that the ensuing humanitarian crisis in Gaza cannot be ignored anymore.

At a meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim, King Abdullah underlined the need to build up an effective international stand that forces Israel to stop the aggression and addresses the humanitarian crisis.

King Abdullah underscored the need for sincere and effective international efforts to immediately follow the ceasefire that focus on settling the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution that ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
