His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received President of the US-based World Jewish Congress Ronald S. Lauder.

During a meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace, King Abdullah stressed the centrality of the Palestinian issue being the core conflict in the region, highlighting the important role of Jewish organisations in reviving the peace process.

His Majesty asserted Jordan’s rejection of Israel’s acts of aggression against Islamic sites in Jerusalem and its unilateral measures, which, he said, pose a threat to the holy city and jeopardise its Arab and Islamic identity.

Lauder stressed the support of the World Jewish Congress for the peace process and for Jordan’s efforts in this regard.

Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh and King’s Office Director Jafar Hassan attended the meeting.
