King receives US congressmen

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday said reaching a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East will enable countries and people to achieve a better and safer future.



During a meeting with US senators Mitch McConnell, Jim DeMint and Mike Crapo, King Abdullah stressed that the continuation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict hinders efforts to achieve regional prosperity and development.



The King told the congressional delegation that the Israeli planned withdrawal from Gaza Strip should be followed by a withdrawal from the West Bank.



Meanwhile, His Majesty the King briefed the US delegation on the Kingdom's reform plans.



King Abdullah voiced appreciation for the US assistance to help Jordan implement different development plans.
