His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday received a US congressional delegation, chaired by Senator Mitchell McConnell, the Senate's minority leader.
At the meeting, King Abdullah reviewed peace efforts in the region, stressing the importance of the US role in the Mideast peace process.
The King said that the two-state solution is the best solution to the conflict, and the sole means to realise the interests of all countries in the region, said the King, underlining the need to take action as soon as possible to launch negotiations leading to tangible results.
Discussions also addressed bilateral ties.
The meeting was attended by Chief of the Royal Court Nasser Lozi, King's Adviser Ayman Safadi and US Ambassador to Amman Stephen Beecroft.
