King receives telephone call from Angela Merkel

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received a telephone call from German Chancellor Angela Merkel during which the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and issues of mutual concern.

King Abdullah and Merkel reviewed regional developments, mainly efforts to revive the Mideast peace process. With regard to the Syrian issue, the King reiterated the Kingdom’s call for a political solution.

The German chancellor stressed Germany’s support for the Kingdom for hosting Syrian refugees, expressing her appreciation for His Majesty’s relentless efforts to achieve peace, security and stability in the Middle East.
