King receives Slovenian president

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday met with President of the Republic of Slovenia Janez Drnovsek, who is on a private visit to the Kingdom.

The King reviewed Jordan's efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region, highlighting the key role played by the EU in supporting these efforts, as Slovenia will take over the rotating presidency of the European Union next year.

The discussions, which were attended by the King's Special Adviser Farouq Qasrawi, focused on the current situation in Iraq and Lebanon.

The two leaders expressed their keenness to enhance bilateral relations and set mechanisms to develop them in all fields.

King Abdullah commended the Slovenian president's role in achieving security and progress in his country following its secession from Yugoslavia in 1992.
