King receives Secretary General of UN World Tourism Organisation, CEO of World Travel and Tourism Council

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday met with Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organisation Taleb Rifai and President and CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council David Scowsill.

King Abdullah outlined prospects of cooperation between Jordan and the two organisations in promoting and establishing tourism projects in the Kingdom.

The King highlighted investment opportunities available in Jordan in religious and medical tourism, stressing that the Kingdom places emphasis on the tourism sector as a key provider to the national economy.

Rifai and Scowsill stressed their readiness to support Jordan’s efforts to develop its tourism sector.

They also commended Jordan’s tourism climate during the last decade, noting that despite regional turmoil, Jordan was successful in attracting tourists from various world regions.
