King Receives Russian Official

His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed the vital role of the international community to seize the current opportunity to push the peace process and establish a just and comprehensive peace in the region.



The King made his remarks during his meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Sultanov in Amman on Thursday.



During the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister/ Acting Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher and Royal Court Minister, the King stressed the necessity of supporting efforts of the elected Palestinian leadership, which aim at building Palestinian institutions.



On the Iraqi issue, His Majesty stressed the importance of preserving the unity and stability of Iraq, calling for enabling all spectra of Iraqi people to take part in the upcoming elections, scheduled to be held at the end of this month.



On his part, the Russian official valued the Jordanian efforts, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to establish peace in the Middle East. He also expressed his country's desire to promote its ties with Jordan in all spheres.
