His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received a letter from Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit in which he stressed the government's support for the Royal Committee tasked with following up on the implementation of the King Abdullah Ben Abdul Aziz Al Saud Residential City in Zarqa.

The premier said the committee will receive the full support of the government to build the city and provide it with the required infrastructure and facilities.

The premier's letter was in response to the King's directives to the government to adopt a clear strategy to provide houses for low-and limited-income citizens and develop services in different areas of the Kingdom.

Last week, King Abdullah issued instructions to the government to accelerate efforts to build the residential city, designed to house 370,000 citizens.

The King also tasked Prince Feisal with chairing a committee to follow up on the implementation of the multimillion-dinar housing project, to be built on 21,164 dunums of state-owned land.

Commending the Saudi ruler's continued support for the country, Bakhit said the government was working to meet the His Majesty's expectations.

He also underlined the King's support for the military housing fund, and housing projects for teachers and other public sector employees.
