His Majesty King Abdullah received on Monday a reply letter from Constitutional Court President Taher Hekmat, who stressed that the Court’s establishment represented yet another milestone in the country’s reform process.
Hekmat voiced his appreciation for the King’s support for the Court. “We also appreciate what you have referred to as the essential duties of the Constitutional Court, guaranteeing further balance and separation between the branches of government, monitoring respect of the law and legitimacy by ensuring that laws and bylaws conform to the letter and spirit of the Constitution,” Hekmat said.
He pledged that the Court will carry out its duties with integrity and professionalism to meet the aspirations of the Jordanian people.
