King receives Qatari prime minister

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday discussed with Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Ben Jassem Al Thani mechanisms to activate joint Arab action.

King Abdullah and the Qatari premier, who arrived in Amman on a short visit Tuesday, discussed how best to boost Arab coordination and unify Arab policies on challenges and issues to be discussed during the upcoming Arab Summit in Libya at the end of this month.

The King briefed Sheikh Hamad on measures taken to overcome obstacles to Palestinian-Israeli peace-making, saying that negotiations should aspire to reach a a two-state solution within a comprehensive regional context that guarantees the restoration of all Arab rights.

During the meeting, at which Sheikh Hamad conveyed greetings from Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Ben Khalifa Al Thani to King Abdullah, the two sides also reviewed mechanisms to enhance bilateral relations, mainly in the fields of trade and economy.

The meeting was attended by Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, the King's Adviser Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh and Qatar's Ambassador to Jordan Mannee Hajiri.
