His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Michel Platini and discussed with him cooperation between Jordan and the UEFA.

During the meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, president of the Jordan Football Association and vice-president of the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA), King Abdullah highlighted opportunities available for strengthening cooperation between Jordan and the UEFA and FIFA in various sports fields.

Platini hailed His Majesty’s support for youths and the development of Jordanian football. He also commended Jordan's relief efforts for the Syrian refugees, including a project, headed by HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, to develop Asian football to support refugees through engaging them in educational sessions designed to instill positive values in society.
