His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received President of the Spanish Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences Jaime Gil Aluja.

King Abdullah discussed with Aluja means to boost cooperation between the academy and local scientific institutions.

Also during the meeting, the King was awarded the Spanish Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences medal of honour, presented to world leaders for their contribution to supporting knowledge and coexistence, bridging cultural differences and fostering understanding and mutual respect.

Aluja is currently in Jordan to participate in a scientific symposium, which opened at the RSS Monday.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya, president of the Royal Scientific Society (RSS), Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi and Spain's Ambassador to Jordan Javier Sangro de Liniers attended the meeting.
