His Majesty King Abdullah and visiting President of Guyana Bharrat Jagdeo discussed on Thursday means to foster bilateral ties.
During a meeting attended by Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi and the King's advisor Ayman Safadi, King Abdullah emphasised the need to build bridges of cooperation and communication with the countries of the south, saying that such an effort would reflect positively on development and economic growth. The King also referred to his visit late last year to Latin American countries which was designed to work out mechanisms to bolster economic cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture and investment.
King Abdullah and President Jagdeo also discussed developments in the Mideast, including recent efforts to bring about peace and stability in the region.
King Abdullah stressed that security and stability will not be realised in the region unless an independent Palestinian state is created on the Palestinian national soil.
Jagdeo stressed his country's keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation and increase communication between the Caribbean area and Arab states.
His visit to Jordan is part of a tour that includes Syria, Cyprus, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE.
