King receives Pope Shenouda

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday received Coptic Orthodox Pope Shenouda III of Egypt who started a four-day visit to the Kingdom.



During the meeting, the King praised the role of the Coptic Church in promoting coexistence between Muslims and Christians.



His Majesty the King said that Amman Message, which was launched during the Holy Month of Ramadan last November, reflects the true image of Islam and its tolerance, moderation and openness.



For his part, Pope Shenouda commended His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts in extending bridges of cooperation between different cultures and religions.
