His Majesty King Abdullah II received today a telephone call from US President Barack Obama during which both leaders discussed regional developments as well as bilateral relations.
King Abdullah first congratulated President Obama on his inauguration as the forty-fourth president of the United States noting that he looks forward to working with the president to resolve regional issues, especially the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of a two-state solution that constitutes the only way to ensure security and stability in the region.
His Majesty also stressed the importance of early US engagement in serious and effective negotiations to achieve a two-state solution as soon as possible.
