His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday received a telephone call from US President Barack Obama during which the two leaders reviewed bilateral ties and Middle East peace efforts.
Obama praised His Majesty's efforts to support regional stability and the cause of peace in the Middle East.
King Abdullah briefed the US President on the outcome of Palestinian-Israeli meetings hosted by Jordan on Tuesday in the presence of representatives of the Middle East Quartet, comprising the US, the EU, Russia and the United Nations.
The King said talks he is scheduled to hold with Obama in mid-January in Washington will provide a chance to exchange views on the future of the Middle East peace process, regional developments and issues of concern to the two countries.
