King receives Oman FM, who delivers letter from sultan

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday received Omani Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousef bin Alawi, who delivered a letter from Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman.

At the meeting, King Abdullah highlighted the historical, brotherly ties between the two countries, stressing keenness to strengthen them further in the best interest of the two people and in service of Arab and Islamic causes.

Discussions also covered the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation between Jordan and Oman on various issues of mutual concern.

Moreover, the meeting touched on the Palestinian cause and the need to relaunch Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations based on the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 4 June 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Crises in the region and the importance of reaching political solutions that restore security and stability for its people were also discussed.

His Majesty asked the minister to convey his greetings to Sultan Qaboos, wishing Oman continued prosperity and progress.

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Adviser to His Majesty and Director of the Office of His Majesty Manar Dabbas, and Oman’s Ambassador to Jordan Khamis Al Farsi attended the meeting.
