His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday expressed his commitment to foster cooperation with Norway in various domains, especially at the economic level, to serve mutual interests.
During a meeting on Wednesday with Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stّre to discuss bilateral ties and means to develop cooperation, King Abdullah highlighted the available opportunities to strengthen Jordanian-Norwegian ties in light of the Kingdom's advanced status in the EU.
King Abdullah and Stّre also discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly efforts aimed at eliminating obstacles hindering the resumption of Palestinian-Israeli negotiations to achieve the two-state solution as soon as possible, according to a Royal Court statement.
The King underlined the significant role of Norway and the EU in supporting efforts geared towards establishing an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state on Palestinian soil with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and security alongside Israel within a comprehensive regional context.
King Abdullah warned that the failure to achieve peace will have negative consequences that will deepen the state of tension and insecurity in the region.
