King receives NATO Secretary General

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday stressed the importance of addressing the Middle East peace process on the basis of a two-state solution and within a comprehensive framework based on international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

During a meeting with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the King discussed the latest developments in the region with regards to efforts aimed at relaunching the peace process, underlining the importance of overcoming all obstacles to negotiations.

The meeting which was attended by the Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi also covered bilateral ties between Jordan and NATO.

Rasmussen visited Jordan within the framework of the Mediterranean Dialogue that was launched in 1994 to boost cooperation and promote stability and peace in the region. Other non-NATO members include Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Mauritania.
