King receives military officials participating in SOFEX

His Majesty King Abdullah, on Monday, received a number of military officials, whose countries are taking part in the 11th Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX) 2016, which is specialised in the defense industry, the manufacturing of special operations equipment and national security.

King Abdullah held separate meetings, at Al Husseinyah Palace, with military commanders from the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Australia, Romania, Mexico, Belgium, South Africa and Poland.

The meetings discussed friendship and cooperation relations between Jordan and these countries in various fields, especially in military and defense spheres.

The meetings also focused on opportunities presented by SOFEX, the world's number one and the only exhibition in the region, specialised in the field of special operations equipment and national security, to set up economic and military partnerships between these countries, as well as between the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army and the armies of these countries.

The officials voiced admiration of the Jordan Armed Forces’ advanced level, regionally and globally, commending SOFEX as a gathering for stakeholders in special operations from different countries. They said the event provides an opportunity to showcase the latest military hardware used by special operations, security agencies and peacekeeping forces.

The fair, which brings together more than 380 defense companies from 37 countries around the world, serves as a global forum for major manufacturers and developers of defence equipment.
