His Majesty King Abdullah received on Thursday a letter from Director of General Intelligence Department (GID), Lieutenant General Faisal Shobaki in which he vowed to follow an approach based on respect for human dignity and rights.

In his letter, Shobaki expressed gratitude to the King, who last week promoted him to the rank of lieutenant general.

Shobaki said the King’s gesture will encourage the GID to strive for more achievements and improvement and will boost their sense of ethics, duty and responsibility.

He also stressed that the GID will exert its utmost efforts to safeguard the Kingdom’s safety and security, “guided by the values of dignity, fairness, justice and human rights”.
