His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday met with Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Sfeir, Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East who began a visit to Jordan on Friday to inaugurate the Saint Charbel Church in Amman and lay the foundation stone of the Saint Maron Church at the Baptism Site.

During the meeting, King Abdullah highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and Lebanon and his keenness to strengthen ties to best fulfill the common interests of the two countries.

The King and Cardinal Sfeir also stressed the need to promote the values of tolerance, dialogue and understanding among adherents of various religions.

Cardinal Sfeir also expressed his appreciation to Jordan for standing by Lebanon and building a culture of tolerance, co-existence and fraternity among various faiths and cultures.
