His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday stressed the Kingdom's keenness to enhance its cooperation with Kuwait, underlining the solid ties between the Jordanian and Kuwaiti peoples.

During a meeting with a delegation representing the Kuwaiti Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, headed by parliamentarian Marzouq Hbaini, the King reviewed means to enhance parliamentary relations with the delegates.

King Abdullah called on Jordanian and Kuwaiti parliamentarians to exert extra efforts to promote bilateral cooperation, especially in economic spheres.

Talks also addressed the latest regional political developments, especially the situation in the Palestinian territories and Iraq.

Hbaini commended efforts exerted by King Abdullah in support of Arab causes, particularly with regard to providing assistance to Iraq to overcome its crisis and his efforts to bring about peace to the Middle East region.

He also lauded the Kingdom's investment climate.

Currently, Kuwaiti investments in the Kingdom are estimated at around $5 billion, distributed among the telecommunications, industry, tourism and services sectors.

During the meeting, attended by Lower House Speaker Abdul Hadi Majali and Director of the King's Office Farouq Qasrawi, the delegates praised the Kingdom's democratic environment.
