His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received Chairman of the Higher Judicial Council (HJC) Rateb Wazani who presented a report on court operations in the Kingdom in 2010.

During the meeting, Wazani briefed the King on HJC programmes to develop the judiciary. Expressing his support for the judiciary and its independence, King Abdullah highlighted the importance of improving the judicial system and manning it with qualified human resources.

He also emphasised that an honest and transparent judicial system plays an important role in achieving comprehensive reform. In addition, he said litigation procedures should be accelerated and that the performance of the various judicial facilities should be improved so as to ensure justice, equality and the rule of the law.
