His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday met with Iraqi Vice President Tariq Al Hashimi and examined prospects to boost joint cooperation, especially in the economic field.
The two sides also discussed the latest regional developments.
During the meeting, attended by several Jordanian officials and Iraqi Ambassador Jawad Abbas, King Abdullah stressed Jordan’s interest in developing its cooperation with Iraq, especially regarding economic ties.
The King and Hashimi also discussed ways to boost Arab solidarity to help confront the various challenges facing the Arab nation, besides several regional issues.
Expressing Iraq’s appreciation for Jordan’s support to Iraq, Hashimi asserted Iraq’s commitment to enhancing its cooperation with Jordan in various fields. He also emphasised the need to encourage Jordanian and Iraqi investors to start joint economic projects.
The Iraqi official thanked King Abdullah for Jordan’s concern for Iraqis residing in the Kingdom and the services extended to them, especially the provision of public school education for Iraqi students.
