His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday stressed that Iraq's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity are in Jordan's interest as much they are in Iraq's interest

During a meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim Jaafari in Amman, King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's support to Iraqi people to build their future and preserve Iraqi people's unity.

The King also strongly denounced all terrorist acts targeting innocent civilians and aimed at destabilising Iraq.

The King and Jaafari expressed determination to develop relations between the two countries in all fields.

“We look forward to build solid relations with Jordan that would benefit both of our peoples,” Jaafari said.

Iraqi Prime Minister voiced appreciation for His Majesty the King's efforts to rally international support to restore stability in Iraq and help Iraqis overcome the difficulties they face.

He pointed out that he is going to discuss with his Jordanian counterpart the formation of a higher ministerial committee to follow up on issues of common concern.
