King receives invitation from Iranian president

His Majesty King Abdullah received on Sunday a letter from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inviting him to visit the Islamic republic.

Head of the Iranian Presidential Office Rahim Mashaei delivered the letter, which also highlighted means to develop bilateral relations and a number of regional and international issues.

The Iranian envoy conveyed Ahmadinejad's belief in the importance of enhancing bilateral relations in all fields.

During the meeting, King Abdullah discussed the importance of taking the necessary steps to develop bilateral ties in a way that serves the best interests of the two countries, mutual Islamic concerns, and the region's security and stability.

The King stressed the need to hold a summit with the Iranian president in the near future in Amman or Tehran to address these concerns, and sent his greetings to Ahmadinejad.
