King receives Ingush president

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday held talks with President of the Republic of Ingushetia Murat Zyazikov on the development of bilateral ties, especially in the cultural and economic fields.

The king stressed Jordan's readiness to offer technical support to enhance relations between the two countries in a way that serves their common interests, and grant scholarships for students from Ingushetia to learn Arabic language and Islamic studies in Jordanian universities.

Commending King Abdullah's efforts to achieve peace and prosperity in the region, Zyazikov said he represents the moderate voice of Islam and is internationally appreciated.

The president added that he valued Jordan's efforts to clarify the true image of Islam, noting that the Amman Message highlights the principles and values of Islam as a religion of tolerance and moderation.

Director of the King's Office Bassem Awadallah, the chairman of the Russian parliament's foreign affairs committee, member of Ingushetia's senate and the Russian ambassador to Jordan attended today's meeting.

Also on Monday, King Abdullah received Bahraini Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Sheikh Rashed Ben Abdullah Al Khalifa.

Discussions focused on bilateral ties and means of enhancing them at all levels.

The king reaffirmed his keenness to strengthen the close relations between the two countries in order to achieve common aspirations.

Awadallah, Bahraini Deputy PSD Director Tareq Deneh and Bahrain's Ambassador in Amman Nasser Al Kabi attended the meeting.
