King Receives Dignitaries from Madaba Governorate

His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed the necessity to speed measures to implement the plan for developing Madaba City.



During a meeting dignitaries and public figures from Madaba governorate at Raghadan Palace on Monday, King Abdullah ordered that the plan should include all areas in the governorates to exploit the tourist sites and activate the economic movement. The King instructed the government to draw up a comprehensive strategy to support the agricultural sector and address obstacles hampering the development of this vital sector in the area. The King said his periodical meetings with citizens from different governorates aim at listening to their opinions and concerns and their developmental needs. His Majesty affirming that the government would offer support to every income generating project that helps improve economic situation and curb poverty and unemployment. The Royal Court and the Government are ready to study the proposals presented by the citizens of Madaba's governorate on implementing and funding their development projects, the King said. " We are determined to go ahead to achieve political development in which all Jordanians are involved," the King told his audience.



The parliament is shouldering a great responsibility to succeed the political development process presented by the government by encouraging the establishment of great political parties, the King emphasized. The Meeting was attended by King's advisor, Minister of Royal Court, King's Advisor for Tribal Affairs, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, and Interior Minister.
