His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received a copy of the Arab Social Charter presented during a meeting with His Royal Highness Prince Hassan, president of the Arab Thought Forum.
King Abdullah thanked the Arab thinkers who contributed to the charter, which was initiated by Prince Hassan, commending their enlightening role in enhancing the values of freedom, equality, justice and law enforcement in the Arab world.
Prince Hassan said the importance of the charter lies in its presentation of a strategic view on how to build the future of the Arab world, outlining the general policies in all fields to achieve sustainable development, security and stability in Arab states.
The charter tackles several issues, highlighting the concept of equal citizenship in Arab communities as the basis for political, cultural and social pluralism.
The document also sheds light on the benefits of cultural diversity.
