His Majesty King Abdullah received on Sunday the CIA director George Tenet who is currently touring the region and reiterated the importance of exerting more efforts by the US to ease tension in the Palestinian territories.

King Abdullah pointed to the suffering of the Palestinians as a result of the Israeli incursions in the PNA lands.

Tenet informed King Abdullah on the steps taken by the US administration in cooperation with the Palestinians and the Israelis to put an end to the violent actions and bridge any gaps in the views to relaunch peace negotiations according to the suggested initiatives and on the basis of UN security council resolutions.
