His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received Joseph Jimenez, the chief executive officer of Novartis Pharma AG, specialised in pharmaceuticals manufacturing. Their discussions covered cooperation between Jordan and the group, especially in the field of technology transfer to enhance the Kingdom's pharmaceutical industries, which is a significant pillar of the national economy.

At the meeting, King Abdullah referred to potential partnership and joint investment opportunities between Novartis and the pharmaceutical sector in Jordan.

The King highlighted the advantages of the numerous free trade agreements to which Jordan is signatory and the country's distinguished geographic location and attractive investment environment. Located in Switzerland, Novartis is one of the leading global pharmaceuticals manufacturers and employs about 100,000 workers in 140 countries.
